  1. Love the Camden Jazz Week programme cover.

And look at the bill at the Roundhouse in 1979; the spirit of adventure mets the mainstream - Adams/Pullen/Richmond, Andrew Cyrille, John Stevens Dance Orch (which featured John Martyn, btw), Towner, Tchicai, McLean/Montolu/Higgins, and the Feminist Improvising Group ('the eight piece ... whose performances were renowned for their hilarity' one reads in a history of the LMC).

Great that we can still see and hear Tchicai, Towner, and maybe Cyrille; but many of the others, no longer.

  2. The Vortex is organising a number of concerts at Bishopsgate Institute in the City (including Marc Ribot in October).
During the London Jazz Festival, there are 2 concerts by Australian trance improvisers The Necks on 18 and 19 November. Tickets have been already on sale for a month and are going steadily.
