Jamie Cullum enters the Bulls Head debate

  1. You can help to stop this from happening and help save a great music venue by signing this petition
  2. It has been providing that service since 1959 and is a national institution. The new owners Youngs want to turn it into a gastro pub.
  3. I've since played there many times and seen many of my heroes there including the great Stan Tracey.
  4. My very first gig in London was at The Bull's Head in Barnes when I was 19 with a band called the Alex Jackson Quartet.

Our previous posts are HERE (original news story) and HERE (with several comments). The Richmond and Twickenham Times has both sides HERE.

  1. Has anyone actually seen what is being proposed by the new owners? I heard that they were looking at making the current music room into a restaurant, but the current restaurant into a music room. However I think that Chinese whispers are not very helpful and the facts need to be established. I certainly hope that live music with a jazz leaning continues at the Bulls Head, which has been a great jazz institution for so many years. Let's see what Youngs have to say though.

  2. Used to go there in late 60s early 70s to watch jazz and blues bands. If you want to learn to play, and equally how to perform, live music is a MUST.
Gastropub business is slowing down - people are cooking at home. Good food, good wine, good CD, good company. Perfect. Thankyou Floyd, Oliver, Stein, Hairy Bikers.
Venues - once they are gone, they are GONE.
