Podcast: Interview with Frank Griffith

Saxophonist/clarinettist/composer/bandleader Frank Griffith came in to talk to us about his most recent album Holland Park Non-Stop (Hep), recorded at Pinewood Studios. The studios are now sadly closed - we covered the story HERE.

Frank talked to us about two of the tracks on the album:

- Holland Park the (nearly) title track, which was commissioned by Cardinal Vaughan Memorial School in 2002 and premièred at St John's Smith Square. The piece features a prominent drum part, played on the CD by Matt Home.

Baby, Won't You Please Come Home?, with Frank playing in the chalumeau (low) register of the clarinet, before we start chatting about his clarinet heroes.

Frank also talked about

-  Tina May's next album, also on Hep, to be released in September

- a series of gigs at Pizza Express Dean Street in April 2014 – each featuring different guests – with the Brodowski String Quartet.
