Ahead of the launch of Andrew McCormack's new album Graviton on the Jazz Village [PIAS] on June 16th, Andrew and the band played the material from the album in Kings Place Hall One on Saturday 13th May 2017. The concert was in the Curated by Empirical series.

There were two variations from the band on the album: at Kings Place vocalist Noemi Nuti was performing in the place of Eska who is on the album. Saxophonist  Josh Arcoleo took the place of Shabaka Hutchings, The band also has Rob Mullarkey on bass and Anton Eger on drums.

Photographer Monika S. Jakubowska was there from the sound-check right through to the after-party, and her pictures tell the story. "What I like about the album is the sense of space in the music. It's like a landscape, maybe even a cosmic landscape, particularly the tracks Breathe and Graviton."

The whole concert was video-recorded -  more detail will follow once it is published.

  1. Lovely photos from Monika, capturing a magical evening. A not-to-be-missed show, coming round again to London in the autumn.
